What we do

Practical Support. Emotional Care. Real Impact.

When a family hears the worst, small things become anchors.
We give those anchors now, plainly and without show.

PRACTICAL SUPPORT FROM THE MOMENT OF DIAGNOSIS

Welcome Suitcases

A cancer diagnosis turns life upside down instantly. Our Welcome Suitcases are already in the hospital, provided by B Positive and ready to be given to families at the time of diagnosis, helping to ease the first steps of their journey.

Each suitcase is thoughtfully packed with essential and comfort items for both the child and their parents, helping to remove some of the immediate stress of hospital life.

CARING FOR THE CARERS

Support for Nurses

Children’s cancer nurses give extraordinary care under immense emotional and physical pressure, supporting families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

At B Positive, we recognise the weight of this responsibility. That is why we provide dedicated counselling and wellbeing support for nurses, creating space for them to step back, process what they experience, and look after their own mental health.

This support helps nurses continue their vital work with strength, compassion and resilience, ensuring they are cared for as they care for others. Because those who look after children and families also deserve to be looked after.

SMALL GESTURES THAT MEAN A GREAT DEAL

Care Vouchers

B Positive provides care vouchers for both families and nurses. Small, thoughtful gestures designed to bring comfort, distraction and moments of light during incredibly difficult times.

These vouchers can include things like food delivery, gaming credits or small treats that offer a break from the intensity of hospital life. These small acts can make a real difference on hard days.

They are often used alongside practical supplies we provide to the ward, helping ensure families have what they need to feel a little more at home. It’s the small things that often matter most. A bit of normality. A bit of comfort. A reminder that people care.

MOMENTS THAT MATTER

Special Experiences

For parents who have experienced the loss of a child, we recognise that grief is a lifelong journey. There is no fixed path through it, but there are moments where space, rest and quiet connection can offer comfort.

Through our partnership with the Hastings Group, B Positive offers bereaved parents the opportunity to take a peaceful break in one of their beautiful hotels across Northern Ireland. These stays provide time away from daily pressures, and a chance to simply pause, reflect and be together. These breaks are about care, understanding and creating space when it is needed most.
